Because of the texture of the silver, the pink gold gives off an antique look. The color is similar to copper, but is less orange and without the worry of greenish patina.
Vermeil Karen hill tribe silver uses a nickel-free process. The pure silver is plated with 1 micron of 18K gold for strength then followed by 2 microns of 24K gold with 6 additional microns of protective coating. This gives the gold a lasting antique look and feel. The 3 micron (micro meter) coating is guaranteed.
